Ryan Adler is not just a magician
Growing up Ryan was very active in sports and the Theatrical Arts. Ryan played soccer for five years with Union Citys soccer league, studied Kung Fu until he reached his brown belt, and ran cross-country at James Logan High School. It was not until the middle school that Ryan discovered his love for the dramatic arts. I auditioned for the play and despite the fact I was in 5th grade I ended up getting the lead. I was scared to death for a while but after the show was over I had such a rush I couldnt get the thought out of my head that I wanted to continue on. Continue on he did; Ryan was active in plays and musicals throughout his four years of high school. Today he still admits that he dabbles in the theater when ever he can up at Cal State Hayward. Ryan became seriously interested in magic at the age of 16 when he bought a trick make a dollar bill/silk handkerchief disappear. Ryan jokingly admits I figured I could make a little profit every time I did that trick
maybe there could be something to this magic thing. After that he was hooked. Ryan began doing shows for family and friends at age 17 and by age 18 had produced his first stage show where he performed for his high school peers. Today Ryan still recalls fondly where he started and says there is more to come.

When it comes to school, Ryan is a very serious student, I have to say I devote almost all of my time to magic and school, and it shows. Ryan has been getting straight As since he was in 7th grade. He graduated from James Logan High School in 1999 magna cum laude and was accepted at California State University Hayward on a full academic scholarship. He is on the deans list and was recognized the spring of 2002 by the Golden Key Honor Society as one of Cal State Haywards most distinguished juniors. He is a Liberal Studies Major with a minor in Philosophy and plans on graduating in the spring of 2003. After taking some time off to tour and expand on his magic act Ryan is contemplating applying to Stanfords Business school.

When it comes to spare time, Ryan says What spare time?!! Actually when I do take time for myself I like to watch magic videos and catch up on my sleep. Other activities that Ryan enjoys include skydiving and bunjy jumping, although he notes that these activities are not that frequent. Ryan enjoys working out, reading, going to the driving range with his grandfather, and the various theatrical arts. Ryan also donates his time throughout the year by performing magic for various charitable organizations. Ryan enjoys traveling to Las Vegas during the year and visiting with friends, especially his role model in the magic realm, Rick Thomas. |

| Family is very important to Ryan. My family has served as my backbone, supporting me in all that I do in life and molding me into the person I am today. If it were not for my Mother and Father and the great job they did as parents I would not be half of what I am today. They are my biggest fans. Ryan has a brother who graduated from U.C. Berkeley and is currently attending Davis Law School. He has 6 magic birds, a fish and two toy poodles. |
